简介 :
俗名錢鰻、薯鰻、虎鰻。棲息於1-20公尺，無毒性，不可食用，無觀賞價值，不是經濟性魚類，分布於印度至西太平洋，產於臺灣西南部、東北部，最大體長150 cm，模式種產於印尼。
形態特徵 :
鮮活時體表具黃色黏膜，10條黑色水平的縱帶線紋，身體有許多比眼睛直徑大的圓黑斑點，有時斑點會相互重疊。臺灣目前僅典藏有3尾標本。近期採獲的標本為標本號TOU-AE5496，95.5 cmTL，2010-4-22，宜蘭
棲所生態 :
棲息於半淡鹹水河口域，或上溯至淡水域棲息，是罕見的淡水鯙類。
地理分布 :
分布於印度-西太平洋：包括斯里蘭卡、印尼、婆羅洲、新幾內亞、臺灣、菲律賓、斐濟、帛琉、澳洲及新 臺灣發現於東北部及西南部河口區。
瀕危狀態 : 不在IUCN瀕危名單中
